Event Information

Mindset Vet and VetFestLive Founder Mark E. Green is leading the WARRIOR’S CODE 001 movement to help veterans and their families boost resiliency and improve mind-body-spirit to aid their transition to civilian life. Lieutenant Colonel Green, who retired in 2017 after 34 years in the US Army, is creating a curriculum around the 7 Vital Steps to Resiliency in his new book Warrior’s Code 001, which is debuting at VetFestLive. His memoir Step Up, Step Out: Lessons Learned from a Lifetime of Transitions and Military Service will also be featured at the event. Post-event, our give-back partner OSD will distribute 2,000 copies of each book to returning soldiers via USOs throughout the country and overseas.

Veteran-friendly businesses and nonprofits will have tables in the exhibit area adjacent to the Clubhouse. All net proceeds from VetFestLive will be divided equally between our community partners Cadet Thomas Surdyke Memorial Foundation and OSD. All funds from the raffle of the Black Ops II Harley-Davidson motorcycle go to CTSMF. Concession sales benefit the Fore Honor Foundation.

FAQs

Why did you choose Deer Creek?
We loved the fact that Fore Honor Golf & Event Center at Deer Creek USA is mission-driven and aligns with the first step of the Warrior’s Code 001, which is REST. Fore Honor is the only golf course in the nation that has established a nonprofit foundation to help with healing of PTSD by providing free golf memberships and greens fees for activity military personnel, veterans and first responders.  They also host many golf tournaments during the year benefiting veteran organizations.

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
All attendees must print out and show their EventBrite ticket at the gate. There are only 144 slots for golfers and space is limited to 1,200 attendees at the event, so pre-purchase of tickets is strongly encouraged. If the event isn’t sold out prior to Sept. 1, a limited number of tickets may be purchased the day of the event. Those purchasing alcohol from concessions or the Clubhouse bar will be required to show ID. All children under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult but are welcome to enter VetFestLive free of charge.

What are my transportation/parking options for getting to and from the event?
Any veteran needing transportation will be handled on a case-by-case basis by volunteers. Each vehicle must pay $5 for parking, which is cash only.  All parking proceeds benefit Fore Honor Foundation supporting veterans suffering from PTSD.

What can I bring into the event?
No coolers, no weapons and no pets. Bring a folding chair and a blanket to enjoy the show.

How can I contact the organizer with any questions?
Send your questions via the Contact page or through our Facebook page.
